Motif and Repeating Pattern

In my motif I decided to go with a base of a hexagon because it seemed interesting and new and I wanted to try it out. I also put circles and lines around it that are the color white because it gives it a more natural feeling and it makes it feel more open to me. Also the lines kind of leave a pattern of a flower in the center.

 This is my repeating pattern in which it was originally a bunch of cubes but then it evolved into a sort of 3D stacking sequence. I like the color scheme and I also like the difference in the alternating white and blue.

This is my chevron pattern and it was made with a tutorial online. I was able to create a single block of a certain chevron and then I was able to create a new pattern for it. After that I was able to make a ship any size and import that into it. In the end I ended up with a wonderful pattern that I really like.

My Bottle

This is my bottle that I made using the 3D tool in Adobe Illustrator. I was able to put on a label after carefully designing one with the help of pathfinder. I was able to also cut off the cork into it's own object then I changed the color into a brownish color. I decided to go with a green color for the bottle because I think that it showed the most sophisticated. Then I put my name on the label with a special font that I found that I thought really contributed to the overall sophistication of the bottle. Here it is:

In the first couple of pencils I designed I tried to implement many things I love or at least, make it my own. For the replica pencil, I chose two different types of yellow to create depth and shadow. I also put the last two letters of my name in their to make it my own. On the creative pencil, I used a full theme of my favorite soccer team, Arsenal. I used the red and white of the home kit, along with the yellow and blue of the away kit, to ultimately come up with a very unique pencil with a unique pattern. Also for the can, I thought just the can wasn't enough, so i decided to give it a more worn, and rugged look by putting jagged lines across.

In the creative project, I decided to go with a childhood favorite of mine and do peanut butter with jelly. So I created a jar, and then duplicated it. Then I colored them with the different colors of peanut butter and grape jelly. Then I created labels with a simple PB and J on the labels, but I carefully selected the font to match the sort of feel of the design. Then I finished of the lids of the jars and added grip lines to the lids so that they would be easier to turn and it made the jars more life-like as well.

Graphic Design is the use of words and images in their work to display or convey a message. It is found all throughout life, we can find in colors throughout the streets we live in. It can be seen in the simple type, the way it flows and works in our mind. It is a language of living and displays a personal message about life and human behavior.

As seen above is the new MLS logo that came out this year and people can see this in so many different ways, but it really relates to me because of how big a part soccer is in my life. This logo really demonstrates how well graphic design can convey a message. After some research I have figured out that the slanted line demonstrates the speed and energy of soccer, and the three stars stand for the three pillars of the brand. The three pillars are "For Club, For Country, For Community"
