Article Review
I decided to do a review on an article titled: "Creative Anarchy at Its Very Best" by Denise Bosler. This article is all about the rules of graphic design and puts an emphasis about one major rule, that says to not be afraid to bend the rules a little bit and be able to go outside the guidelines if needed, but to a certain extent. I connected to this article in multiple situations. For example, the author compared graphic design rules to house and home rules and that really helped for me to relate that some rules are more flexible than other. I also connected in a way that it said you must challenge your strengths but also strengthen your weaknesses. This connected to me because it is so vast to mean so many different things but yet so direct to show what a designer must do. Although in this article, it is encouraging for designers to step out of their comfort zones, there is always limits, such as working within the project and not going over board. Even though this is stated, it could be a potential weakness because it is very easy for a designer to get carried away and she should focus a little bit more on these limits. The conclusion is that what separates the good designers from the rest, is the willingness to take risks and execute those risks. The evidence is pretty convincing to the reader and it is a very encouraging article for people to step out of their comfort zones. It convinces me to try new things with open arms instead of hesitating. The article also displayed in this article were the five guarantees of E-Communications.
